Rams brace for frigid showdown vs Jordan Love, Packers after request for NFL schedule change denied

The Green Bay Packers are set to enjoy facing two rivals the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers at home in November this season, something the Rams team didn’t seem to like and reached out to the NFL schedule makers to request a change.

The Rams journeyed to Lambeau Field in Green Bay for playing the last three road games against the Packers since the 2020 season; all those games were scheduled in January, November, and December, and they went 0-3 in those games, losing by an average of 11 points per game.

NFL didn’t seem to care about Rams’ special request to reschedule Packers’ game

According to Zach Jacobson of CBS Sports, the Rams submitted a scheduling request to the NFL schedule makers to want the early November matchup to be played in September or October.

The average temperature in Green Bay on November 5 is in the upper 40s to low 50s range and the Rams would have to play one game in sub-freezing conditions.

However, the NFL denied the request, scheduling the match at Lambeau Field. and Rams COO Kevin Demoff expressed outrage against the league for not honoring his team’s wish, even though it’s still in early November.

“They were close. It’s still disappointing. To me, that’s one I thought they should have honored”, Demoff said.

The Los Angeles team is trying to bounce back in the league following the disappointing 5-12 record last season to head back to the form that won a Super Bowl in the 2021 season and had hoped to avoid playing in the icy conditions of Lambeau Field.

As the NFL refused to budge on the schedule, Rams will have to prepare for the sub-zero temperatures. However, the franchise is no stranger to tough conditions and seemingly has been working hard to prepare for the game, focusing on their physical conditioning and mental toughness.

Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay isn’t one to back down from a challenge and stated his excitement to face the challenge despite all the difficulties.

“That’s what’s great about the NFL. Three playoff teams. Obviously, tremendous respect and we have familiarity. There’s been continuity on all three of those staffs. But they’ve earned the right, they’ve done a great job. Seattle’s always a great place to play. Tremendous respect for those guys, but this is why you get into this. You love these challenges and looking forward to competing with this team and it’s going to be a lot of fun”, he said.

Meanwhile, many eyes will be on Jordan Love as he takes on the daunting task of leading the Packers in four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers’ absence. Love has been seen in limited action so far in his NFL career and will probably need to quickly adapt to the pressure of a high-voltage atmosphere.

The game is expected to be a thrilling battle between two tough teams, with both sides determined to come out on top. The Rams will need to stay resilient and focused if they hope to overcome the challenges of the cold weather and secure a win against the Packers.
