Sami Zayn gets loud boos from WWE crowds on road to WrestleMania 39 show following his intentional mess-up

Sami Zayn was participating in a Road to WrestleMania live event held in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He was one of the participants of the main event of the show where the former potential bloodline member was seen with the likes of Ricochet, and Braun Strowman, fighting Imperium in a massive 6-Man Tag Team Match.

The Gunther-led side got defeated and Sami’s team managed to secure the victory after which, he took the mic to deliver a promo for the upcoming event,

“I am not going to make this too long, it has been a long night. It has been an awesome night. We were in the back all night listening to you guys, you all brought the energy tonight. You guys were awesome, thank you very much. I know I am a Montreal guy, but whether it is Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, or right here tonight in Kingston, you guys are always brilliant.”

The city is actually called Kitchener, but Zayn called it Kingston. The fans in attendance probably felt insulted by such a remark and started booing ‘El Generico’. As Sami is a Canadian himself, it probably felt extra insulting to hear the city name uttered wrong by a fellow native.

But the 38-year-old was quick to correct himself, “I knew we were in Kitchener. Hey, I was a bad guy not that long ago. Some habits don’t die easy, alright? I mess with you guys every now and then.”

Why should fans believe Sami Zayn?

The bloodline storyline saw Sami desperately try to become a part of the Roman Reigns family. To be considered a proper uso, Zayn did not hesitate from engaging in villain-like behavior. His misspelling of Kitchener could very possibly be a throwback to his usual antics which he adopted during his bloodline days.

In the end, he betrayed his team and went his separate way. Now Roman will take on Cody Rhodes for the championship on Wrestlemania 39, it may be still too early to say what role Zayn will play moving forward.

How do you expect Wrestlemania 39 to end?
