Saquon Barkley comeback tour keeps on rolling: New York Giants RB earns first time nomination for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week

Everyone has the universal desire to be rewarded for their efforts. Saquon Barkley has advanced one step closer to his ultimate goal, as have all athletes.

Barkley, a 25-year-old running back, maintained his great season on Sunday when he carried the ball 35 times for 152 yards and a score against the Houston Texans. Until 2022, Saquon Barkley’s return tour will continue.

With this effort, Saquon was nominated for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week award for the first time this season.

After the game against the Texans, Barkley’s running total of 931 yards moved him back to the top of the NFL’s season-long charts. He had four more carries than Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans, who are now eight yards behind him in the rushing yardage race.

Barkley established a new career high in running attempts with 35 on Sunday, surpassing his previous best of 31 set in a Week 4 victory against the Chicago Bears. He had 152 yards, which was his second-highest total of the year and just 12 yards short of his season-opening performance against the Titans.

On Sunday, he had his 16th professional 100-yard game and fourth of the season.

Barkley’s 152-yard performance pushed him over former Giants running back Ron Johnson into seventh place on the club’s all-time rushing leaderboard with 3,868 yards (3,836). Ahmad Bradshaw, a two-time Super Bowl winner, comes in with 4,232 yards.

His career average of 73.0 running yards per game with the Giants is the highest ever.

FedEx is once again delighted to partner with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to award Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) around the country with $2,000 in the name of the winning QB and RB ($4,000 total) for the 2022-2023 NFL regular season.

More than $100,000 will be distributed to participating HBCUs throughout the course of the year to provide need-based scholarships for students attending that institution from the 2023–2024 academic year and beyond.

Fans are hoping for the best to see Shaquon as the winner. This reward may push him to shine more in the future and most importantly, it will boost his confidence.
