“Spoke it into existence”: Joel Embiid fulfills 2014 prophecy by winning NBA MVP award with Sixers

Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has been named the Most Valuable Player for the 2022-23 NBA season, becoming the first Sixers player to win the award since Allen Iverson. The announcement was made by Ernie Johnson on Inside the NBA on TNT. Embiid had an exceptional season, averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 54.8% from the field and 33% from three-point range.

The Cameroonian center led the league in scoring and helped his team secure the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 54-28 record. It was a remarkable achievement for Embiid, who was a finalist for the award last season but lost out to Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.

The Sixers forward had tweeted in 2014 “MVP rankings in a couple years” mentioning him as the MVP in the coming few years. Now that dream of his has come true and he has finally achieved what he always dreamt of. After winning the MVP award he tweeted “SPOKE IT INTO EXISTENCE”.

Embiid’s MVP win is a significant milestone in his career, and it adds to his already impressive accolades, which include six All-Star selections and four All-NBA team selections.

The Sixers are currently in the second round of the playoffs, facing off against the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately, Embiid hasn’t played in their series yet due to a knee sprain he sustained in the first round against the Brooklyn Nets. Despite his absence, the Sixers managed to take a 1-0 lead over the Celtics in Game 1. However, they’ll be eager to have their star player back in the lineup for Game 2 as they look to progress to the next round.

Overall, Embiid’s MVP award is a testament to his exceptional skills and hard work, and it cements his status as one of the league’s best players.

Joel Embiid Becomes First Philadelphia 76ers Player Since Allen Iverson to Win NBA MVP Award

Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid has finally earned his first MVP award, proving that he is one of the top talents in the NBA. Embiid’s influence on the court has elevated the team’s play, helping his teammates to lead the league in points and assists. He values his team’s contribution to his journey to winning the MVP award, as seen when he was surrounded by his teammates at the announcement of his victory.

However, the Sixers’ playoff journey this year has hit a slight bump with the forward’s injury. He is currently listed as doubtful for Game 2 against the Boston Celtics after missing Game 1 due to a knee sprain. Despite his absence, the Sixers managed to secure a win on the road in the opening game of the series.

But with Embiid’s return still uncertain, the team will have to step up to fill the gap left by their All-Star center. Fans will have to wait and see whether he will be able to make a comeback for Game 2 and continue to lead his team’s playoff run.
