Why is the Chiefs vs Dolphins NFL Week 9 game in Germany? Patrick Mahomes receives a severe warning from Tyreek Hill

Patrick Mahomes will be facing his former teammate Tyreek Hill on Sunday, Nov 05 in the NFL International Series. Undoubtedly it is going to be a very hyped game as both teams, the Chiefs and the Dolphins, will enter the game with winning records in hand.

The game will be taking place in Germany as the Chiefs has chosen it for their international ground for the series. However, fans have touted Patrick Mahomes’ team to be at a disadvantage due to arriving late in Germany.

Why is the Chiefs vs Dolphins NFL Week 9 game in Germany?

In order to promote American football on the international stage, every NFL team has to choose an international ground to play a game, and for this year the Chiefs have chosen Germany as their global ground. Fans have touted the venue to have put the Chiefs at a disadvantage, especially when it is going to be a long tiring journey for the players before the big game.

Since the Chiefs have global marketing rights in Germany, that means holding a game there would give them a lot of business leverage. Staging a game overseas promotes the game and enhances its appeal. They can get corporate contracts and sponsorship deals, hold fan meetings, and sell merchandise.

Besides that, Germany has almost 18 million casual NFL fans with an untouched gold mine of opportunities. Hence, holding their game in Germany had been a perfect choice for the Chiefs.

Tyreek Hill sends stern warning to Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs

After spending 6 seasons and winning 1 Super Bowl with the Chiefs, Tyreek Hill is going to face his former team in Germany for the first time.

Recently, in an interview Hill talked about his old team and players, especially Patrick Mahomes. He also voiced his thoughts for the upcoming game.

“It does not really matter where we play at. I mean, obviously, it would have been great to play in KC. But it really does not matter where we play. You feel me?”

Looks like the Dolphins are not going to hold back and playing overseas is not going to be an issue for them either. Tyreek even shared a few pieces of advice for Sunday’s game with the Dolphins defense.

“What I have been telling the guys to do is just find Kelce. If you allow Kelce to get open, he is like the energy of that team, although Pat is like the world. But if he finds Kelce and Kelce just catches a 2-yard pass, he just somehow finds energy in that and gets that team going.”

Although there is going to be a huge rivalry between the two teams, Hill thinks it is going to be more of a brotherly competition with his former teammates, especially Patrick Mahomes.

“It is going to be trash talk, but it is going to be fun though. It’s going to be like, ‘I want to see you do good, but we are going to bust your ass at the same time, though.’ It is going to be one of those things like backyard football with your brothers.”

Previously Tyreek has compared Patrick Mahomes with Tua Tagovailoa. He compared the accuracy of Mahomes with his teammate Tua Tagovailoa and said he would choose Tua over Patrick for accuracy. He even went on to voice that he favors Tua as an MVP-worthy player for this season.

The game will be free over the air on NBC6 for Chiefs fans in Miami, and as for the fans outside of Miami and Kansas City, it will be available on the NFL network.
