“There’s no more links”: Kylian Mbappe confirms to stay at PSG next season, ends discussion on Real Madrid transfer rumours

French sensation Kylian Mbappe has blown away all speculation surrounding him leaving Paris Saint-Germain and has confirmed he will stay at the club next season.

The 24-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times, and Mbappe himself has stated on multiple occasions that Real Madrid is his dream destination.

After he rejected putting down a new deal with Les Parisiens, many believed that the newly appointed France national team captain would move away from the French capital this summer. However, Mbappe has stated that he is still bound by a contract with his current team, and will be seeing it out.

“Next year I will play at Paris Saint-Germain, I still have a contract, I will honor my contract,” said Mbappe to the press.

Mbappe pledged after being named Ligue 1 Player of the Year for a record-tying fourth time in a row at the UNFP awards ceremony. Along with Lionel Messi, who was at a Coldplay concert in Barcelona and therefore unable to attend, the 24-year-old was also included in the Team of the Year.

How was Mbappe’s performance this season?

The sensational young forward continues to bedazzle everyone with his performances ever since he broke through to the big scene. This season seems to be no exception.

So far, Mbappe has found the back of the net 28 times in Ligue 1, 7 times in the Champions League, and 5 times in the Coupe de France. That brings his total tally up to 40 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions this season. In addition, he has a total of 10 assists. With one more game remaining to play in Ligue 1, there is the potential that Mbappe could extend this tally even further.

Is Kylian Mbappe already a PSG legend at the age of 24?

Kylian Mbappe joined PSG at the age of just 18 from AS Monaco in 2017, after he ripped through Ligue 1 in the 2016-17 season. He initially joined the Parisians on a loan deal and eventually signed a permanent deal worth a staggering €180 million with the club after the loan had ended.

In his six years with PSG, he has won a total of five Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, two French League Cups, and three French Supercups. He has also recently surpassed Edinson Cavani as PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 211 goals from 259 matches for the club.

He has nearly won every possible trophy with his club, apart from the coveted Champions League. Mbappe came very close to achieving the title as well in the 19-20 season, where they lost to Bayern Munich in the final.

Needless to say, despite his age, Kylian Mbappe has established himself as one of PSG’s greatest, and arguably one of the world’s best as well.
