Titans RB Derrick Henry likely to benched vs Cowboys amid hip injury

The Tennessee Titans, like other AFC South teams, have been struggling in the tournament with only seven victories out of their fifteen encounters; on top of that, the team was not able to make their player play consistently due to unexpected injuries.

The Titans took on the Huston Texans on Christmas day, and even though Derrick Henry played superbly- he ran 126 yards in his 23 carries with an average of 5.5 and pulled off a touchdown. Unfortunately, Derrick could not get his team over the line as the Texans won the match 19-14.

Moreover, after being in “good nick,” Henry is unlikely to play the next match against the Dallas Cowboys with an unexpected Hip injury bringing new concerns to the Titans camp. The Titans started the season well with seven wins after being defeated in their opening game against the Ravens; afterward, there has not been much positive to speak of as the team is going through a five-game losing streak.

Henry is the season’s RB1 in standard fantasy football forms, while the Titans’ running back is ranked fourth in PPR leagues. His 13 touchdowns on the ground are second-most among rushers, and his 1,429 yards are second-most overall, trailing only Josh Jacobs of the Raiders.

The Titans earlier had lost their quarterback Ryan Tannehill due to an ankle injury while the other team players were playing mediocrely, which hasn’t helped the team reach the position they would have wanted to attain coming forward to this season. On the other hand, players like Kristian Fulton and Denico Autry are also unlikely to play against the Cowboys.

Who will replace Derrick Henry?

With Henry injured, all eyes will be on running back Hassan Haskins to lead the team’s backfield in Thursday’s game against the Cowboys. Hasan hasn’t played much this season, and while he only played a handful of games, he could not create much impact on the team- in his eleven rushing attempts, he ran fifty yards with an average of 4.5. On the other hand, Haskins has seven receptions with thirty-one receiving yards with an average of 4.4.

Can Henry recover in time and play against the Cowboys? Stay tuned and find out!
