Warriors SG Klay Thompson issues an ambitious NBA Championship promise in China amid contract situation

Klay Thompson, along with his teammate Kevon Looney, is currently on a tour in China for the promotion and launch of his new series of shoes for the sportswear brand Anta. The star shooting guard of the Golden State Warriors made a significant promise to his massive Chinese fan following during his visit.

Although Thompson may be a bit slower now than before his injury, NBA fans almost witnessed his spectacular comeback last season, showing that he can still compete at an elite level and be a tremendous addition to his team. However, he’s excited to surprise his Chinese fans with an incredible feat next season.

Klay Thompson promises Chinese fans “5th” NBA Championship with Warriors

With a massive fan base in China, Thompson expressed his gratitude during his recent tour there. He pledged to bring a fifth NBA title to China next summer. Thompson can be heard saying,

“To all my Chinese fans, I love you guys so much. You don’t realize how much inspiration I gained from you guys and the love I felt in every city I visited along the way. It means so much to me, and it is incredibly humbling.”

Often referred to by the nickname ‘China Klay,’ he continued to express gratitude to his Chinese fans, stating, ‘I cannot wait to get back to California, get back to work because you guys, inspire me to be the best I can be.’

After thanking the fans, one of the greatest three-point shooters in NBA history showcased his determination to win again, saying, “So, thank you so much. I love you. I can not wait to come back to China next summer with the fifth ring, and I can’t wait to play in the KT9 this year. And go, Warriors!”

Klay is currently a four-time NBA champion, and it comes as no surprise that he wants to add a fifth championship to his name. He had previously voiced his desire for another title while walking past a statue of Thanos on his China trip.

The Warriors appear to be in good form for the upcoming season and could potentially fulfill Thompson’s wish.
