Watch: Warriors Chris Paul weighs in on Klay Thompson and Draymond Green’s ejection against Timberwolves

Chris Paul often hailed “the Point God”, possesses all the talents and abilities that a good point guard should have. He has great handles, shooting skills and a high basketball IQ.

Many fans wonder why despite having so much of talent and partnering with other basketball superstars, Chris Paul aka “CP3” is still ringless after all these years. The most logical explanation about this is the lack of team chemistry. Chris Paul has played for multiple teams with legit superstars but had not been a perfect fit for any of them. Currently Chris Paul is playing for the Golden State Warriors beside superstars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Chris Paul shares candid thoughts on Klay Thompson and Draymond Green

Referees ejected Klay Thompson, Warriors forward Draymond Green, and Timberwolves wing Jaden McDaniels following a chaotic scene in the first quarter. Thompson and McDaniels began to trade blows. Then, before the officials and coaches could separate everyone, Green raced in and put Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock after Gobert had put his hands on Thompson.

In the aftermath of the ejection, the Warriors had to play without their star players Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Stephen Curry was out with a knee injury. Against the red-hot Timberwolves, it wouldn’t have surprised outside observers if an outmanned Golden State team was run out of the building.

The fans inside Chase Center and the remaining Warriors players appeared to be invigorated by the altercation and the ejections. At the half, Golden State led by five points, and at the end of the fourth quarter, their lead was seven points. After Thompson and Green were removed from the floor, Paul assumed an unquestionable leadership role, and he sensed that the mood of the building had changed.

“We still had a game to play,” Paul told reporters. “Whenever that stuff happens, it usually creates a lot of energy in the building. It definitely got everybody into the game a little more.

He added, “It was good to see that energy and that fire. Unfortunately, there were two ejections.” The Warriors will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday after having a day to cool off. It’s unclear if Curry and Green will be in the starting lineup.

Chris Paul performance vs Timberwolves

Chris Paul had 15 points 5 rebounds and 4 assists against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a good performance but not great enough to win a game.

The Golden State Warriors have a star-studded team consisting of All-Star players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul and more. Although the team has high chances of winning when all the stars are present, they have to learn to play well in their absence too.

A high caliber player like Chris Paul should have scored more points to help the Warriors win. Chris Paul was also criticized for a dirty play that could have ended Mike Conley’s career.
