Watch Zlatan Ibrahimović smoke cigar and throw away champagne bottle to celebrate AC Milan’s Serie A win after 11 years

Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrated in style with a cigar and champagne bottle as AC Milan celebrated their first league title in over a decade.

This year’s Serie A title is one fans will remember for ages. In the recent past, all the Serie A titles went to Juventus. Both over the last couple of seasons there has been a massive power shift in Italy. Inter Milan pipped Juventus to the title last season. This season, however, the Old Lady were out of the title picture all together.

Instead, it was the two Milan clubs who competed for the title. While Inter Milan have had a presence in the league, AC Milan were pretty far behind. Although they clawed down the gap in recent seasons, not everyone believed that they could win the title. But when you have someone like Zlatan Ibrahimovic in your squad, no one should rule you out.

The Swede, who rejoined Milan in 2020 for his second spell, has been a pivotal figure behind Milan’s resurgence. With 33 goals in 60 games, the 40-year old formerJuventus and Barcelona striker carried Milan for large chunks of the last couple of years. This season, though, his role in the club was a bit marginalized. But even so, his presence in the dressing room, and when on the pitch was a catalyst to inspire.

After Milan beat Sassuolo 3-0 to be crowned Champions of Italy, Ibrahimovic was seen celebrating with a bottle of champagne and cigar in his mouth. He walked into the field with the cigar in his mouth, and raised his hands on both sides to soak in the adoration of the travelling Milan fans. A classic Zlatan celebration!

This is Ibrahimovic’s 34 title in a very illustrious career, with the Serie A title being his 7th in Italy. He has previously won the league for Juventus, Inter Milan, and one with AC Milan in his previous tenure. The 121-cap Swede has also won league titles in Spain with Barcelona, and in France with current Champions PSG.

What’s Next for Zlatan?

Zlatan’s contract with Milan is set to expire at the of the current campaign. Even though he is going strong at the age of 40, now might be the right time to hang up his boots. But given that this is Zlatan, don’t be surprised if you see him racking up another season at the top.
