“We still have stuffs to achieve this season”: Christian Pulisic believes Chelsea squad is still focused leaving fans skeptical

Christian Pulisic still believes that Chelsea can turn around their season. He said this after a goalless draw at home against Liverpool.

Chelsea faced Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in a very crucial game for both sides. Both sides had a lot of chances which both failed to capitalize on. Chelsea had two goals ruled out with one for a handball from Kai Havertz. They also dominated the game quite a lot with a lot of pressing.

Chelsea's hideous February detailed with shocking stat » Chelsea News

Chelsea’s season has devolved into disorder following the firing of Graham Potter and the start of their search for their third manager since being purchased by Todd Boehly and his consortium last summer.

Potter had been under fire for some time because performances had been poor despite the current owners investing more than £550 million on new players since taking over the club last May. Just two months ago, they broke the British transfer record by signing midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for £106.8 million.

The Blues are currently in 11th in the Premier League and have little chance of playing in Europe next season.

What did Christian Pulisic say?

Among all the negativity regarding the club’s dismal season, USMNT captain Christian Pulisic spoke positively about the club’s chances this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, he said about the season so far, “It’s a tough situation for a lot of people, I think. A lot of stuff, you know, just been changing in general at the club this year. You know, now with the manager out, just a new challenge, and the guys are just trying to stick together and do the best we can.”

He further added when asked about the mood in the dressing room regarding the incoming games this season,

“I mean, there are conversations among us. Yeah, I think it’s just about, like you said, coming together, and then we want it. We still have, you know, stuff to achieve this season, and that’s what we’re here to do.”

Christian Pulisic has had a season to forget. Only having 19 appearances, he has just a goal and an assist. The club’s insane spending has seen the addition of new forwards meaning that Pulisic is no longer a guaranteed starter in the team. Injuries and new managers have hampered his progress since joining the Blues from Dortmund in the summer of 2019.

He is now being linked with a move away from the English club. Several of the world’s finest teams, from Premier League heavyweights Manchester United to Italian superclubs Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter, appear to be interested in the American talent.

What next for Chelsea?

Julian Nagelsmann can be hired after being replaced by Tuchel at Bayern Munich. The 35-year-old German coach is admired by the Chelsea hierarchy. Luis Enrique is also a possibility. However, Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmaan could both join Tottenham Hotspurs. The North London club has a managerial vacancy as well following the exit of Antonio Conte last week.

Bruno Saltor, a coach who departed Brighton with Potter to Chelsea, has been announced as the team’s temporary head coach. Chelsea will now face Wolverhampton Wolves away on Saturday before facing Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals later this month.
