“We’re talking about a decade of alleged abuses” Man City’s Premier League rivals demand club be relegated if FFP rule were breached

Manchester City is accused of over 100 allegations which include fake information regarding the balance sheet and transfer policy. The Citizens also manipulated the salary structure of key players which came to light through a severe investigation over four years.

The blue side of Manchester has moved to assure relevant parties – players, agents, and staff – over the last 48 hours that it is ‘business as usual’ after being charged by the Premier League with numerous breaches of financial rules following a four-year investigation.

Earlier, the authority denied Man City the chance to appeal the case in the same manner they pulled off during the UEFA ban but later came up with a committee that will listen to both parties while further challenges are feasible.

Man City will throw everything they have to beat the Premier League governing committee and destroy financial charges after confirming their fight to the process all the way, which could even mean going to the High Court or even Supreme Court – the highest legal platform in England – if required.

No timeframe has been set for an outcome on Man City’s PL charges, but other clubs want a verdict before the end of the season. However, some sources said it was likely to be ‘years away’.

One club chief said: “If these charges are proven there must be proper punishment – and the only fitting one is for them to be relegated.”

“We’re talking about a decade of alleged abuses and want the Premier League to do the right thing.”

The overall sense is that most people expect Man City to receive a ‘small points deduction’ as punishment for the charges they face from the PL authority.

This may end up suiting both parties as the irrefutable evidence City say they have will likely concern the Premier League and losing such a high profile case would be just as damaging, possibly more so for the league, as it would Man City while the politics will play a huge part in the final outcome.
