Ronda Rousey took the whole world by storm when she appeared after the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2023. There was a huge hype surrounding the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match as it main evented the show and speculations ran rampant about Ronda Rousey’s debut in WWE after her contract with UFC expired.
She’d appear after the match which Asuka won much to fans’ confusion as it appeared she was stealing Asuka’s thunder but nonetheless, those were exciting times as she’d make her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 in a mixed-tag team match joining forces with Kurt Angle to face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and her debut was iconic.
Ronda Rousey demonstrated the power of women against Triple H
Rowdy Ronda Rousey truly took the Women’s Division to the next level as she went on to main event a WrestleMania in the first-ever women’s main event in the history of WWE and it’s safe to say that it wouldn’t have happened without her. Everyone was curious how she’d adapt her MMA fighting style to WWE where the action isn’t as real as UFC but her debut definitely exceeded expectations. After her contract signing, she immediately became a rival of The Authority and even put Triple H through the table on the road to WrestleMania.
In a mixed tag-team match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon where she teamed up with Kurt Angle, Ronda portrayed why she was labeled the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ as she demonstrated her power after getting some offense on Triple H in a rare case of inter-gender wrestling which we rarely get to witness.
“Emmy award-winning actor” remark directed towards Triple H
Triple H is truly a veteran of the business and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time with immense wealth of knowledge and that showed during Ronda Rousey’s debut at WrestleMania. When HHH faced off against her at WrestleMania, it was one of the most iconic moments of the event as he did an incredible job of selling Ronda’s punches which truly made her look like the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’. Ronda would even lift him up and slam him to the mat and go on to win the match.
Triple H did an incredible job of giving her the rub and putting her over as people were convinced that Ronda Rousey would thrive in WWE. She’d go on to win a total of 5 championships in the company and her run has very divisive opinions among the fans due to her in-ring work and inability to cut a promo but it’s safe to say that the first-ever Women’s Main Event at WrestleMania wouldn’t have happened without her due to her sheer star power.

Now with her latest feud with Shayna Baszler coming to an end at SummerSlam, it seems that she’s on her way out and we won’t see her on our television screens anytime soon which she confirmed on social media. Her run was mixed with weird booking and her seemingly lack of commitment but it doesn’t change the fact she’s one of the most popular women’s athletes in the world.
