What happened to Xavier Woods? Examining WWE star’s injuries after being assaulted by Drew McIntyre

Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are already good enough in the ring, and when they both show up with Big E, the “New Day” crew becomes a proper cultural phenomenon; their record-breaking Tag Team Championship reign solidified their position in the history of WWE. However, injuries are piling up for the trio, which now includes Xavier.

Kofi announced his ankle injury on “WWE SmackDown” on March 3 and the fan-favorite Big E already broke his C1 and C6 vertebrae at that point. Woods was the only one who could come to the ring with Kofi, but now it doesn’t seem possible anymore. Kofi is probably the one-man army of “New Day” now.

Xavier Woods injury update

The New Day and The Viking Raiders faced off in a tag team battle in a recent contest. When Matt Riddle and Drew McIntyre got involved, McIntyre tossed a chair and accidentally smacked Woods in the face. The WWE star wanted to do something special for his fans on his birthday, September 4, but doctors won’t let him back in the ring in his current state. WWE just announced that he may skip RAW.

Recently in an interview, the “New Day” member voiced his desire to make a classic Intercontinental title comeback. Woods has declared that he wants to “stand on his own” and show to the world that he can be a successful star without the help of anybody else.

Here is what Austin said on his Twitter handle:

“Moments before I had a chair hurled into my face giving me whiplash. Doctors’ orders, no wrestling next week. Was pumped to be out there on my birthday but it looks like I’ll be spending it at home next Monday. See yall the week after!”

Xavier Woods and Drew McIntyre feud explained

Kingston and Woods defeated McIntyre and Riddle on August 21. The Viking Raiders lost to The New Day on August 7. The New Day made their first tag team appearance since their February 10 dark match against The Judgment Day on August 7. They held the “NXT” Tag Team Titles from December 2022 to February 2023.

About the incident of Monday RAW, he said, the match between “The Viking Raiders” and “The New Day”, which The Viking Raiders won, was where the “accident” happened. McIntyre and Riddle were watching from the sidelines. Riddle wants to work with McIntyre. Drew claimed the chair throw was accidental, meant for Erik, not Woods.

Now that the Scottish has injured Xavier out of his birthday performance, we could see the two start feuding with each other. As unintentional as the throw may have been, this could be a wonderful opportunity to branch off a new storyline.

Do you think Xavier Woods will be back on the next Friday’s “RAW”? Feel free to share your thoughts.
