Big stars like Aaron Rodgers, and Odell Beckham Jr. have already boarded a new ship and landed for a new journey in the free agency period of the NFL, except three-time All-Pro DeAndre Hopkins who is still waiting for a vessel to come and take him to his next destination.
Though two teams have expressed their interest in the wide receiver, reportedly one team is in the front row to bolster their wide receiver room with the former Cardinals player.
Free agent DeAndre Hopkins is yet to find his next destination
After enjoying a glorious three-year stint with the Cardinals, the former Cardinals star wide receiver had experienced a turbulent last season with the team. The 31-year-old commenced the year with a six-game suspension after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and was not too productive.
Later the Arizona team cut their ties with him following the failure of finding a suitable trade partner for the veteran player in May. The Cardinals arranged their roster with DHop for three seasons after bringing him in a lucrative trade with Houston and eventually signing him to a $54.5m contract extension through 2024.
Till now, the wide receiver could not find a team for him and he stated that he is not in a hurry to seek out his next home rather he is exploring the trade market closely to find out the best choice for him while maximizing his interest.
He quite consistently and productively displayed his imposing outlook while playing for the Cardinals and Texans, which is probably why later decided to hold off until the start of training camp in order to secure the best possible deal.
Hopkins receives contract information from both Titan and Patriot
While many wide receiver-needy teams seemingly jumped into showing interest in the free-agent receiver, the Titans and Patriots went to make the next move and paid a trade visit with him. Moreover, both teams reportedly have offers on the table for the veteran wide receiver.
The legendary player was scheduled to count $30.7 M against the salary cap in 2023 and $26.2M in 2024. So, he seems to be in a run hoping for a good deal, perhaps neither offer from the two teams touched or surpassed his desired amount. The Titans reportedly have been more aggressive to this point, albeit no sign of signing has come out till now.

Additionally, the Chiefs are also in a contract with the receiver in spite of the fact that the team does not have enough cap space to satisfy his desire.
Hopkins has expressed a desire to continue playing until he is 37 years old, indicating a long-term commitment that could help many teams to improve their wide receiver room under the veteran’s leadership.
