WR Xavier Legette reveals Panthers’ repeated attempts to acquire him

The Carolina Panthers are currently looking for a wide receiver and reportedly South Carolina WR Xavier Legette is their main target.

Xavier Legette recently revealed the team’s repeated attempts to sign him. He appeared in an interview where he shared that the Panthers met with him not once but four or five times.

“I’ve met with the Panthers about four or five times,” the WR said.

Legette shared that there is a possibility of this new deal considering the team has assured him that they will sign him if he is a 33 pick.

“The relationship, it just keeps continuing to grow. They’re really hoping I can make it the second round. They keep on telling me if I’m sitting at 33, they’re gonna take me.”

This is not the first time Xavier Legette has talked about the Panthers’ interest in acquiring him. He revealed this ongoing discussion back in March as well when he revealed that the Panthers want to sign him.

He also added that there are many other teams showing interest in him as well so he will see what deal works out for him the best. Xavier Legette’s incredible college career is the reason behind this heightened interest in him from multiple teams.

Xavier Legette’s remarkable career stats

Xavier Legette attended Mullins High School in Mullins, South Carolina where he played wide receiver and also quarterback in his senior year. As a senior, he had impressive stats as he rushed for 1,826 yards with 19 touchdowns and passed for 887 yards with 14 touchdowns.

During his four-year college career at South Carolina, he participated in 41 games with 17 starts. Legette recorded 42 receptions for 423 yards and five touchdowns during his first four years.

Xavier Legette was named a second-team All-SEC member for his outstanding performance during his senior year. Now he is connected to the 33rd and 39th overall selections in the NFL Draft as he aims to pursue a professional NFL career.
