There have already been some special appearances hinted at and even revealed for Royal Rumble 2025, which got fans super excited. But as the event got closer, something important was still missing, and it was the name “The Rock.”
However, it appears that WWE has no intention of disappointing its fans, as they recently revealed a significant hint regarding The Rock’s unexpected appearance at the Royal Rumble.
The Rock hasn’t said anything about appearing at the Royal Rumble yet, but WWE has dropped several hints that he might show up.
First, a hype video from Netflix for the event showed participants like Cena, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk, with The Rock being one of them.

If that wasn’t enough, WWE also changed some street signs around Indianapolis before the event. One of the signs was called “The People’s Pkwy,” which is a clear nod to The Rock, who is known as “The People’s Champ.”
While it’s almost certain The Rock will appear, no one knows yet what his role will be, especially after his shocking babyface moment on WWE Raw’s Netflix debut.
The Rock’s star power guarantees huge viewership for Royal Rumble
The Rock’s presence will make the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 a formidable event in the upcoming years. His appearance already set records with WWE RAW’s Netflix debut on January 6.
Then WWE NXT’s “New Year’s Evil” on January 7, 2025, saw its highest viewership in over five years because of his presence. Many think his rare appearance was because of his daughter, Ava, who is now NXT’s general manager.

Now, The Rock could make a big return at the Royal Rumble, an event he last attended in 2001. If he shows up tonight, it will be a record-breaking moment, especially after 24 years since his last appearance at WWE’s biggest live event.
