NFL Trade Rumor: Haason Reddick set to depart Eagles with multiple NFL teams express interest

The Philadelphia Eagles have made some major moves this offseason to improve their roster and work on their weaknesses. The next big move of the team includes their LB, Haason Reddick.

Reddick is entering the final year of his contract and the team had to deal with his contract situation. However, recent reports indicate the team is no longer interested in continuing with the LB.

Eagles allegedly want to transfer Haason Reddick

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly planning to trade linebacker Haason Reddick soon, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

“The expectation leaguewide is that he is moved at some point. The Eagles went and spent on Bryce Huff, they re-signed Josh Sweat, so they have their two pass rushers. Reddick appears to be the odd man out.”

Jeremy emphasized that the team would make this decision despite Haason Reddick’s willingness to continue with them.

“He does want a new deal, but this is a premier guy that should have value. He wants a new contract, plus the draft capital that it’s going to take to get him.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported that the Eagles gave the LB’s camp permission to seek a trade.

However, Haason later denied making a trade request and claimed that he would like to sign an extension with the team.

Unfortunately, the Eagles are not ready to sign him an extension and will trade him soon. Haason Reddick is entering the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract signed in March 2022. He is owed $14.25 million in base salary with a $21.8 million cap hit.

The LB was an integral part of the team when they played in the Super Bowl in 2022. But the cap space and business side of things have compelled the team to part ways with him.

Now, the next step for Haason Reddick will be to find a new team for the upcoming season and that won’t be very difficult for the LB as many teams are appearing as potential landing spots for him.

What are the potential landing spots for Haason Reddick?

Here are some of the top potential landing spots for Haason Reddick.

The Arizona Cardinals appear to be one of the top teams that could sign the LB. Reddick had the best season with the Eagles when Jonathan Gannon was his defensive coordinator. Now, Gannon is with the Cardinals, and it is expected that their reunion could improve the Cardinals’ performance drastically.

The Atlanta Falcons also emerge as one of the top suitors for Haason Reddick. The team is seeking a talented pass rusher for Jimmy Lake’s defense. The Falcons ranked 25th in the NFL in pressure rate last season (32.7%) and 19th in sack rate (7.1%). Adding Reddick, a pass rusher with a high number of sacks, can help the team improve this season.

The Detroit Lions, whose star WR is wanted by police, can also be in line for the LB. Adding Haason to their roster and pairing him with starter Aidan Hutchinson off the edge can be a great move for the team.

While the Houston Texans already have a defensive rookie of the year, Will Anderson Jr., the team might also be interested in signing Haason. It will help them get a stable defensive line.

The Colts and Rams are also among the potential landing spots for Haason Reddick. The Colts’ current head coach, Shane Steichen, has a history with the LB, as he played with him when Shane was offensive coordinator for the Eagles.

So, he might get interested in reuniting with Reddick. On the other hand, the Rams faced the biggest problem in pass rush last season so adding the talented LB could help them fix that.

For now, these teams appear as the top potential landing spots for Haason Reddick. However, the final decision will be of the Eagles and the LB.
