“It could be time to step away” Aaron Rodgers’ cryptic answer suggest he is ready to hang up his boots after Packers’ heartbreaking loss vs Lions

Aaron Rogers is one of the few names that the Hall of Fame is waiting to retire in order to include their name. Aaron is now 39 years old and has spent his entire 17-year career with the Green Bay Packers.

In the final moments of his career, the 2010 Super Bowl champion was defeated by the Detroit Lions and eliminated before the playoffs. The Packers have missed the playoffs for the third time in the last five seasons. Following the devastating loss, the veteran quarterback felt a surge of raw emotions.

What did Aaron Rogers say?

Aaron appeared in the postgame press conference and shared some revolting feelings. At one point during the interview, he said, “I have a lot of pride in what I’ve accomplished in this league but I’m a realist. We are a young team, there could be changes with some of the older guys and it could be time to step away. But I could take some time and say “Hell no, I need to get back out there.”‘

The journalist was taken aback and stunned after hearing such opinions from the 10-time pro bowler. “I mean it’s a little raw right now,” Aaron elucidated. “It’s a little bit out of the game I want to take the emotion out of it, have conversations and see where the organization is at.”

“I’m not gonna hold them hostage, I understand we are still in January here, March is free agency. I just need some time to get the emotion out of it and figure out what is best. There has got to be mutual, on both sides,” Rodgers continued.

In response to a question about whether he would move into another franchise, A-Rod said, “I don’t know. I don’t like saying never but I’ve got to see how I am feeling first, once the emotion is out of it. Have the right conversations and see what the best direction is.”

The perplexing thoughts left the NFL fans shell-shocked. Previously in 2021, Rodgers submitted a trade request, but the Packers managed to hold him to a three-year contract.

As for now, where a mere win was enough to qualify for the playoffs, the Packers lost the match by a score of 16-20 on home turf. This hit the Super Bowl MVP like a ton of bricks.

This season, Aaron Rodgers completed 64.7% of his passes for 3,490 yards, scored 25 touchdowns, and threw 11 picks.
