Alex Pereira reveals desire to fight UFC champ Jamahal Hill, claims ‘sweet dreams’ would put Jiri Prochazka to sleep

Alex Pereira is about to embark on a brand-new octagon journey. Prior to his light-heavyweight debut, Pereira stated that his ultimate goal is to face Jamahal Hill.

At the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida, on April 8 Pereira’s short reign as the middleweight champion came to an end against Israel Adesanya. After suffering the brutal knockout defeat at the hands of The Last Stylebender on UFC 287, Poatan made the decision to make a move to the 205-lb division.

In a recent interview, the 35-year-old fighter talked about Jamahal Hill, the current champion of the light-heavyweight division. According to Poatan, Hill is going to put Jiri Prochazka, the former champ to sleep.

How has Alex Pereira performed at 205 till now?

Fans can not wait to see how well Pereira performs in the new division. As against Jan, it is going to be his professional MMA debut as a light-heavyweight fighter.

However, back in his Glory kickboxing days, Poatan was quite an incredible performer as a light-heavyweight. In fact, the Brazilian was a two-division champion as a kickboxer. So it can be expected that he’ll somewhat replicate his kickboxing performance in the octagon as well. However, MMA is a different sport and Blachowicz possesses a strong ground game which can be a problem.

Previously, Chuck Liddell was spotted in a social media video posted by the Brazilian fighter. During the training session, the former light heavyweight champion of the UFC was observed assisting Pereira with his sparring.

Is Jamahal Hill vs Jiri Prochzka confirmed?

It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but a highly-anticipated battle has been building up between Hill and Jiri Prochzka. According to the most recent update, the 205-pounders are going to fight at the TD Garden in Boston for the UFC 292 headliner on 19th August.

‘Sweet Dreams’ has participated in nine fights in his UFC career and has only lost one of the bouts. The American fighter defeated Glover Teixeira to win the UFC light-heavyweight championship on January 21 at UFC 283.
