Anthony Joshua ‘not too worried’ to face Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk after Francis Ngannou bout

Anthony Joshua stands as one of boxing’s prominent superstars in recent history and is considered one of the best heavyweights in the current era. He has had a remarkable career, securing victories against the likes of Vladimir Klitschko and Andy Ruiz Jr, among others.

Joshua’s dominant run faced a momentary setback with two losses to the undefeated Oleksandr Usyk. However, he successfully rebounded from these tough losses, securing solid wins to announce his return. Now, he prepares to face the latest headline in boxing, Francis Ngannou, in a fight scheduled for March 8th.

Anthony Joshua talks on possible bout vs Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk

After Francis Ngannou put on an unexpected performance against Tyson Fury last year, he has been able to land a similarly grand showdown deal with Anthony Joshua, which Joshua readily accepted. As their fight gets closer, boxing fans are having a tough time containing themselves, as they have another huge heavyweight clash in store.

‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury finally takes on his long-awaited rival in Oleksandr Usyk in May, to rightfully determine the top position of the heavyweight division. With both these fights lined up, there have also been talks of a fight between the winner of the two. However, when Joshua was asked about Fury vs Usyk, he stated that he was “not too worried” about the winner of the fight.

Joshua has chosen to focus primarily on his formidable opponent, and is going forward to the fight with an unfazed spirit. AJ has gone on to predict a knockout win over Ngannou, which will rightfully put him back in the conversation for heavyweight greatness. He stated, “Mentally, I’m ready for war” in his preparation and said that the fight “couldn’t come soon enough.”

Anthony Joshua links up with Tyson Fury’s father

Ahead of the British boxer’s fight against Ngannou, Joshua had an unexpected encounter with none other than Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury. Despite previous scuffles between the teams of Joshua and Fury, it didn’t hinder a warm embrace between the two.

They were seen meeting in Riyadh, where Joshua said to him, “How are you? I have watched everything you have said.” In response, Fury laughed and pointed out to the media how imposing Joshua looked in person. It was an overall great display of respect.

It will be intriguing to see where both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury line up after their respective fights. Although, if everything sets them up to eventually step in the ring against each other, it will undoubtedly have the eyes of the whole world on them.
