Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder bout confirmed, Eddie Hearn announces ‘virtual deal’ agreed

According to the most recent information provided by Eddie Hearn, the much-anticipated rematch between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte is almost certainly going to be made official.

The progress towards finalizing the fight has heightened the excitement and anticipation, as many boxing fans eagerly await the official announcement and details of the showdown.

Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder bout predictions

According to recent statements made by Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, there have been significant developments. Eddie has provided some information and insights regarding the highly anticipated rematch between Joshua and Whyte during his interview with Boxing News.

“We virtually have a deal. Agreed in principle, subject to a few final discussions on stuff. We are seeing them again on Monday. I think we are in a good place.” Eddie said.

Until approximately a week ago, there was no official date set for the bout between these two heavyweight fighters. Hearn’s comments have shed some light on the situation, offering fans a glimpse into the progress being made toward organizing the match.

“We want to fight on August 12. It’s important to his development and momentum that he does, that’s still the plan. There’s a couple of other guys ready to sign.” Eddie added.

Now the fight date has been nearly confirmed for August 12, with London’s O2 Arena being chosen as the venue. Joshua’s promoter has indicated that AJ has a strong desire to face Whyte in August.

Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte’s rivalry

The famous rivalry between AJ and The Body Snatcher in professional boxing dates back to their amateur years. In 2009, while they were both amateurs, Dillian defeated Anthony by unanimous decision to set the stage for their continued rivalry.

Joshua and Whyte fought once more in December 2015, but this time they were at a professional level. Joshua was able to exact revenge on Whyte by stopping him in the seventh round to win the British heavyweight title and inflame their already smoldering animosity.

The rivalry between AJ and ‘The Body Snatcher’ has clearly had a lasting effect on each of their careers as well as the boxing community as a whole, even though their rivalry may have lost its spark in recent years but it seems to be growing again amid the ongoing rematch discussions.
