Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder: The Heavyweight bout expected to take place on March 2024 if one particular condition is met

Former WBA champion Anthony Joshua is all set to take his name in consideration for the title shot. After losing the title against Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua was not able to get his belt back. Later, it turned out that from the past 4 fights, he secured 2 wins and 2 losses.

But the last two consecutive wins, especially the knockout win against Robert Helenius, have put Joshua in the running to fight the former WBC champion as well. After finishing Helenius, Anthony gave a fierce warning to Deontay Wilder.

Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder rumored bout details

Joshua and Wilder will be making their way to the ring on March 9, 2024, in Saudi Arabia, according to reports. But there are stipulations that both former champions have to fulfill first to get the potential bout official.

In the recent tweet ESPN’s Mike Coppinger confirms the condition both boxers have to fulfill first, and that only then will they get the chance to face each other in the ring.

Coppinger wrote, “Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder have a deal in place for a March 9 fight in Saudi Arabia, sources tell ESPN. The former heavyweight champs compete in separate bouts on December 23, and they must win to keep the bout intact. Joshua fights Otto Wallin, while Wilder faces Joseph Parker.”

So, both boxers have to win their upcoming bout on December 23. Only then will this bout get an official announcement.

There are already talks between the Francis Ngannou team and both former boxing champions’ teams for boxing match bouts. As per reports, they are almost done finalizing the opponent for Ngannou, which will either be Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.

Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin match preview

Anthony Joshua, a two-time world heavyweight champion with 26 wins and 3 losses, will be clashing against Swedish-born Otto Wallin on December 23rd in Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Arena.

This card will also be co-headlining with Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker. Most of the boxing community members are giving their words in favor of British-born fighters. But Wallin has only one career loss, and that was against Tyson Fury in 2019.

Eddie Hearn has already given suggestions to Joshua for the IBF heavyweight title fight, but after finishing Wallin, he also has a different plan. Despite having a potential upcoming bout in March 2024, Deontay Wilder gave his support to Anthony Joshua while talking to ESnews. The former WBC champion thinks it will be the former WBA champion who comes out as the winner within the six to eight rounds of the fight via knockout.
