Colby Covington sees his potential fight vs Conor McGregor to bring record-breaking PPV numbers in UFC history

In the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), there are a lot of interesting developments taking place right now. However, Colby Covington is undeniably the focal point of everyone’s attention right now. In the midst of everything, ‘Chaos’ voiced his desire to compete against Conor McGregor, a bout which he anticipates will be a huge commercial success.

There is no doubt that Conor is one of the most prominent figures in the world of mixed martial arts. Because of his likable personality, trash-talking, skilled MMA performance, and confident demeanor outside of the octagon, he has proven to be an excellent source of revenue for Dana White’s organization. On the other hand, the former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion believes that if he and McGregor ever compete against one another, it will be an even more successful fight, and it might even break all of the previous pay-per-view records.

What does Colby Covington think about his potential fight against Conor McGregor?

Since defeating Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 272, Covington hasn’t competed in the octagon. The American fighter, however, unexpectedly made a comeback at UFC 286 in London to serve as a backup for the welterweight main event. During the main event, ‘Chaos’ expressed his thoughts regarding the Irishman.

“Conor’s done some great things in this sport. He’s a great fighter, but his time is passing. He’s made a lot of money, so he just doesn’t have that same hunger and same drive he used to when he first started fighting.” said Colby.

Recent statements made by the Irish lightweight superstar indicate that he would like his return fight with Michael Chandler to take place in the welterweight division rather than in the lightweight division. If that is indeed what winds up happening, then the chances of Covington fighting Conor could very well become a reality.

“If Conor wants to fight one day and do business, it’s probably the biggest fight the UFC would ever do, as you see with the numbers this weekend that I’ve drawn to this event.” Colby added.

Considering MMA Record Colby “Chaos” Covington has 17 wins under his belt with a loss of 3 inside the octagon. On the other hand, his 5′ 9″ tall “Notorious” opponent has 22 victories with defeat in 3 bouts.

The stats reflect how evenly the games will be poised if it goes on! Do you believe that a fight between Colby and Conor is actually possible, given that Colby is the most likely candidate to fight the current welterweight champion next? Do not forget to share your opinion in the comment section.
