It appears that UK-based fight fans can anticipate witnessing a world title fight during the UFC’s upcoming event, UFC 304, in Manchester this summer.
According to Leon Edwards’ coach Dave Lovell, there is speculation that the upcoming event in Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena on July 27 could feature a headline bout between Edwards and his rival Belal Muhammad, with Edwards defending his welterweight title.
“The UFC is over here in July, so no doubt Leon will be on that bill,” Lovell shared with talkSPORT. He continued that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Leon was unable to participate in the UFC 300 event.
Edwards and Muhammad have faced each other in the cage once before, with Muhammad being unable to continue after an accidental eye poke in the second round. Ever since, Muhammad has been looking for an opportunity to face Edward again. Meanwhile, Leon has firmly established himself as the dominant figure in the division, securing impressive wins against Kamaru Usman (twice) and Colby Covington.
The highly anticipated UFC 304 is scheduled to take place on July 27. According to Edwards’ coach, Lovell, Leon is eagerly awaiting the event and will begin his training camp next week. They are concentrating on honing their skills in order to get ready for Mr. Belal’s challenge during the upcoming 12-week camp.
