Belal Muhammad reveals devious game plan to beat Lean Edwards amid potential UFC title bout: “Start kicking him and hurting him”

Belal Muhammad has been calling out Leon Edwards for the welterweight title bout after his victory over Gilbert Burns at UFC 288. But Dana White has not provided any official confirmation of the title fight between Belal and Leon. Currently, Belal Muhammad is on a 10-match win streak, which arguably makes him the No. 1 contender.

The last time Leon Edwards fought was against Colby Covington at UFC 296. However, the welterweight champion was allegedly offered a bout at UFC 300. The speculated fighters for his bout at UFC 300 were Islam Makhachev, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Khamzat Chimaev. With a title matchup finally in sight for Belal Muhammad, the UFC star made a bold prediction for his matchup with Leon Edwards.

“I picture me coming out and piecing him up with boxing. The first round, then the second round, I start kicking him and hurting him to the body. The third round, I start clinching him and hurting him with elbows. In between rounds, my coach tells me to stop playing with my food but I don’t listen,” said Belal.

He then added, “I take him down and start getting him in submissions to the point of him tapping but then I let them go until I hear his coach scream the magic words from the corner, then at that point I lick my lips and I’ll point to the ground like Max Holloway and Leon will look at me in fear, then I’ll shoot takedown and win 50-42 on all three judges scorecards.”

Although Belal Muhammad does deserve a title shot against Leon Edwards, until Dana White himself announces the fight, nothing can be confirmed. But one thing is for sure: when Belal and Leon step into the cage, it will be an intense matchup between the two warriors.

Leon Edwards coach confirms Belal Muhammad title bout

Dave Lovell is one of the most reputed coaches in MMA. He is also the long-time coach of UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards. Recently, in an interview, Lovell revealed why a potential bout with Islam, Shavkat, and Khamzat at UFC 300 collapsed.

“The UFC is over here in July; there is no doubt Leon will be on that bill. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make the $300 bill for whatever reasons; the lads they put to him—Shavkat, Khamzat, Islam—were all fasting; we were ready to go,” said Dave Lovell.

He then added, “I think it will be Belal; it’s not written in stone, but 99 percent of the time it will be Belal.”

It will be interesting to see if Belal ‘Remember the Name’ Muhammad finally fulfills his dream to become the UFC welterweight champion.
