“Come on Dana White April 8 has to be 5 rounds, put that belt on the line” UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns urges to fight for BMF title in bout vs Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287

Gilbert Burns has his sights set on earning the right to challenge for the BMF title in his upcoming bout, which is slated to take place against Jorge Masvidal in the co-main event of UFC 287 on April 8.

An interesting fight between Masvidal and Burns will take place in the welterweight division on the main card of UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya 2. Each of the fighters can hardly wait to meet one another at the location, which has not yet been determined.

On the 21st of January at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Gilbert Burns made his comeback to the octagon following a hiatus of nine months and defeated Neil Magny in a bout that lasted less than five minutes.

On the other hand, Jorge Masvidal is eager to go back on the winning track after suffering three consecutive defeats at the hands of Colby Covington once and Kamaru Usman twice.

Gilbert ranked sixth in the welterweight division, made his UFC debut in 2014, and has since gone 13-5. The Brazilian was knocked out by Kamaru Usman in the title bout at UFC258, but he bounced back to defeat Stephen Thompson in his next fight.

In his upcoming bout against Masvidal, Durinho hopes to not only get his 15th UFC victory but also earn a shot at the BMF championship belt. A recent tweet from the 36-year-old fighter included a tag from UFC president Dana White as part of his quest to earn his title shot.

”Come on @danawhite April 8 has to be 5 rounds! Put that belt on the line! Everybody knows It’s only one guy in the @ufc that fights ANYONE! #ufc287” Burns tweeted.

In the UFC244 main event, Jorge, the number 13 welterweight, defeated Nate Diaz to win the BMF title. The American has been fighting in the UFC for ten years now winning 10 of his 19 fights and losing 9 of them.
