Dana White reflects on McGregor-Chandler altercation during TUF filming as “things started escalating” between coaches

When Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler got announced as coaches for TUF 31, fans were naturally excited. Mike was a worthy contender to fight the Irish inside the Octagon and had the verbal prowess to keep up. Now UFC president Dana White gives us some insider news confirming tensions between the two lightweights.

Dana described the altercations saying, “And then some things started escalating that you will see on the show and they do not like each other now. I’m getting old boys, I’m getting old. I would have been in there sooner back in the old days, but yeah, not good. A lot of s**t went down on Friday.”

When asked about a potential date for the highly anticipated ‘Notorious’ vs ‘Iron’ fight, he had this to say, “Trust me if there was [a date], you would have heard about it already.”

Are we surprised by what Dana White revealed?

Anyone who has followed Conor McGregor’s actions should know such practices are very common for the Irish star. In fact, most fans tune in to see ‘Mystic Mac’ decimate his opponents with his mouth long before the first punch is thrown. Sure he does not seem to back his words up with actions to much success, but the trash-talking appeal seems to remain.

In the lead-up to this fight, Chandler was always rather respectful towards the ‘Notorious’ which worried some fans. If Mike doesn’t engage then there might not be much of a point in putting these two fighters together. But the former Bellator champ seems to have picked up the pace with his words.

This fight seems to be a win-win scenario for pretty much all parties involved. Fans of the sport could see a great bout, Michael probably gets the highest payday of his life, and Conor, we are actually not sure what he is still fighting for.

Who do you think wins in a Conor vs Chandler bout?
