Days after surpassing Hulk Hogan’s historical title reign, Roman Reigns passes undesirable milestone

Roman Reigns is currently barely holding on to the position of Tribal Chief along with the Undisputed Championship. The Tribal Chief had experienced significant growth since returning as a villainous character. Alongside defeating the likes of John Cena and Brock Lesnar, Reigns also surpassed multiple records in WWE history.

However, recently the Undisputed Champion also touched a rather undesirable milestone in the company. This milestone is something that probably won’t make the Tribal Chief happy at all.

Roman Reigns crossed 100 days mark without defending his title

The Tribal Chief had recently reached the historic mark of 1,042 days as champion. This record was earlier set by Hulk Hogan. The last time Roman Reigns had defended his WWE Undisputed Championship was at WrestleMania 39 where The Tribal Chief had faced Cody Rhodes in the Night 2 main event. After having multiple twists/turns Reigns finally speared the American NightMare and crushed his dreams of becoming the Champion.

However, since the ‘Grandest Stage of All Time’ event, Reigns hasn’t defended his Championship on WWE television. It is worth to be noted that Reigns had defended his title in Live events or house shows after defeating Cody Rhodes, but since Live events don’t count, it marks Reigns 100 days without defending his title.

Reigns possibly set to defend the title against Jey Uso at SummerSlam

The upcoming premium live event of the company is SummerSlam 2023. The Tribal Chief is reportedly set to defend the Undisputed Championship against Jey Uso on the show. For those unaware, the former Undisputed tag team Champion had challenged Reigns after a beatdown during The Tribal Court.

On the recent edition of SmackDown, Paul Heyman & Solo Sikoa confronted Jey but it all resulted in a beatdown for both Sikoa & Heyman. However, the company has recently announced the return of Reigns for the upcoming edition of Blue Brand.

Along with this, a segment named “SummerSlam Rules of Engagement” has also been announced for both Roman & Jey Uso. Currently, there is no further information announced regarding the segment but from the name, it seems that there will be certain rules for the match between Reigns & Jey Uso.

It is important to note that Jimmy Uso had been sidelined from the storyline due to injury which was caused due to the brutal attack from the Bloodline Enforcer. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in the upcoming edition of the Friday Night SmackDown. It is highly likely that the WWE will officially announce the clash between these two Samoan brothers.
