Ex-Rams coach Thomas Brown hired by Panthers as offensive coordinator completing Frank Reich’s coaching staff

The Carolina Panthers hired Frank Reich as their new head coach last month after interim Steve Wilks stepped down. The Panthers have been looking for a new offensive coordinator since then.

Frank has decent experience handling a winning team, as he has two Super Bowl rings from his time coaching the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. However, since taking over as head coach of the colts, the 61-year-old has had mixed results.

To strengthen the coaching staff, the Panthers have acquired a new offensive coordinator who is able to work with the new head coach.

Who is the new offensive coordinator for the Panthers?

The Panthers hired former Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Thomas Brown to complete the coaching staff. brown has been on coaching career since 2011 at college level. In 2020, he got his first taste of the top-flight league of American football.

Thomas joined the Rams as the running back coach and was gradually promoted to assistant head coach and tight ends coach in 2022. His potential and vision attracted Reich, which landed him at the Panthers.

The 36-year-old didn’t get much name recognition as a player and played only two years before retiring due to fitness problems. As a coach, Thomas won Super Bowl LVI for the Rams and gained attention.

The Panthers’ fans are eager to witness some revolutionary change in the team as the franchise hasn’t appeared in the playoffs for five years now. With these two effective competitors’ experience in the top competition, they surely can expect something noteworthy next season.
