Former World Champion Floyd Mayweather predicts brutal KO victory for Gervonta Davis over Ryan Garcia

Gervonta Davis is all set to square off against Ryan Garcia in a highly anticipated twelve-round lightweight bout that will take place on April 22nd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ahead of this much-awaited showdown, let’s take a look at what Tank’s former mentor Floyd Mayweather said about Garcia.

“We can fight in 90 days if you want. Whatever you wanna do, he’s gonna get smoked. I’m gonna have Tank in the best shape of his life. Just know when he hit that boy he ain’t gonna wake up until next year.”

Floyd Mayweather warned Ryan Garcia a year ago and made this statement. However, the former champion has not shared his thoughts on this super fight in recent days. It would be interesting to see how this fight plays out considering Garcia has the size advantage as he is five inches taller along with 2.5-inch reach benefit.

With that being said, this will be the toughest challenge for Gervonta Davis. And by no means would it be easy for Ryan Garcia as well.

Everything to know about the fallout of Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather were extremely close for a long time. Tank was under the mentorship of Money and the former champion signed the young prodigy under his label Mayweather Promotions. Everything was going great as Gervonta was winning fights and Floyd was guiding him during his fights and behind the scenes.

However, things took a wild turn after the Rolando Romero fight. Following his knockout win over Rolly, Gervonta announced that he is not re-signing with Mayweather Promotions. The reason behind this is reportedly, Floyd was not able to secure fights against top lightweight contenders.

Initially, things were not bad between Davis and Floyd. However, Gervonta tweeted and criticized Money and manager Leonard Ellerbe. After months of bad blood, Davis and Mayweather seemed to have sorted out their problems when they met each other at the Benavidez vs Plant fight.
