“Go F*ck Yourself”: Following his inclusion in AEW Adam Copeland aka Edge got his request trampled by Christian Cage

Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, shocked fans with his recent appearance in AEW at WrestleDream. On his debut occasion, he faced his buddy Christian Cage and assaulted Cage’s friends. Copeland announced his decision to join AEW full-time, saying he now feels “free” in his life.

But at 49 years old, his future in wrestling is cloudy at best. Fans are left wondering whether his time at AEW would be at a temporary halt or his last one. Copeland posed several questions and spoke to Christian Cage about reforming their squad on the October 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, but was met with an unexpected answer, even after a friendly hug.

Christian Cage rejects Adam Copeland’s request

This week on Dynamite, Tony Schiavone welcomed WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland to AEW and introduced Copeland in his first AEW promo. Adam said that challenging himself with fresh talent is an important part of his AEW mission. He mentioned wanting to challenge for the AEW World Title and facing off against Kenny Omega, Miro, Jon Moxley, and Jay White among his ideal matchups. Additionally, Edge said that his nine-year-old daughter had urged him to “have fun with Uncle Jay”, referring to Christian Cage.

The situation heated up when Adam accused Christian Cage of assaulting Sting. He said that Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus had betrayed Cage and that they should get back together to take on FTR. As he walked into the ring, Christian was wearing the TNT Championship belt. Edge was not happy with Cage’s antics at AEW WrestleDream and conveyed his disgust for him. Christian rejected his proposal for a formal reconciliation with harsh remarks, saying “Go f**k yourself” and exited abruptly from the ring.

Fans claim AEW copied this segment from WWE

Recent reports of allegations that AEW plagiarized a WWE segment have ignited a firestorm on Twitterverse. This week’s episode of Dynamite, in which Adam Copeland and Christian Cage get close and then break up, evokes memories of the treachery shown in Bloodline tale.

Adam’s appearance in AEW kicked up a compelling storyline between the two AEW mainstays this week. Copeland called out his old buddy Christian Cage and said he wanted to finish his career with Cage and the rest of their vintage lineup. Adam Copeland was taken aback when, after a pleasant embrace, Christian Cage said, “Go f*ck yourself,” and then walked out from the ring.

Fans compared the moment between Adam and Christian to an earlier WWE bloodline segment in which Jimmy similarly hugged Roman. Some were dismayed to see a well-respected sports entertainment company like AEW plagiarize WWE’s concepts.
