“He’s a great player”: Ex-Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins Patriots visit looms as QB Mac Jones embraces potential addition to offense

Among all the free agents almost all big names have started their new journey either with their ex or with a new one, however, after cutting the knot with the Cardinals, five-time All-Pro DeAndre Hopkins is still on the boat looking for his next destination, perhaps his waiting time is also going to end soon.

Many wide receiver-needy teams are scrambling to add Hopkins to their roster after the Cardinals announced their divorce with their veteran wide receiver, with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots in the front row. Additionally, the Patriots star player Mac Jones is already dreaming to have the former Cardinals star on their roster hinting a potential good news for the Hopkins’ lovers soon.

When will Hopkins visit the Patriots?

As the regular season is still a ways off, uncertainty about the former wide receiver for the Cardinals’ fans has grown. Amid these situations, the 31-year-old wide receiver had previously finished his visit with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, and he will now reportedly see the Patriots on Thursday.

The New England team needs a proven veteran receiver on their roster and the team has kept on an eagle eye on DHop to bolster their squad as the teams’ coach Bill Belichick also admitted his team’s interest in him during a recent press conference.

“I think it relates more to the logistics and things like that,” Belichick told. “I’m not really a travel agent. I’m not going to say it’s going to happen here, or it’s not going to happen.”

Mac Jones showers praise on DeAndre Hopkins

Before Nuks’ potential visit, the Patriots’ star quarterback Mac Jones seems much more hopeful and positive about being the teammate of the wide receiver. From his college life, DeAndre set himself as a cornerstone of his team being the only player with multiple 100-yard receiving performances in the Clemson Tigers’ history and kept this level of athleticism in the NFL world being one of four players in the NFL history collecting 750+ receptions, 10,500+ receiving yards, and 65+ TDs in his first nine seasons and many others accolade as well, hence forced the Patriots veteran player Jones to love him that the quarterback admitted publicly after Monday’s mandatory minicamp session.

“I think that’s definitely a hypothetical, but I think he is a great player,” Jones said. “You watch his film from college all the way through the NFL, he’s done a great job. So obviously, we’d love to have him. But we do have a great group of guys.”

The Patriots team is in need of additional offensive expertise as support of Mac and the quarterback seems the former Cardinals DHop as one of the best-fit regarding the spot.

During the NFL’s drama-filled period, Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, and some other players were destined with their preferred teams, on the contrary, Hopkins’ luck seems less favorable in his desire as he did not wish to be traded to New York or New England.

Mac Jones would 'love' for DeAndre Hopkins to join Patriots

However, it’s possible that after succeeding as Belichick’s pupil and Jones’ teammate, Nuks’ bad feelings toward the Patriots will end in the near future.
