“I have all the things” Curtis Blaydes claims to have all the tools to be UFC GOAT Jon Jones’ toughest opponent ever

Several days before his next bout, Curtis Blaydes presented a compelling argument. By asserting that he possesses all the necessary skills to defeat Jon Jones, the heavyweight fighter subtly forewarned Jones, the freshly crowned UFC heavyweight champion.

Why did Curtis Blaydes believe he would be Jon Jones’ most difficult foe?

In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, heavyweight fighter Blaydes detailed his analysis of Jon Jones’ last bout. Curtis believes he could have given the returning MMA great a lot better fight given how swiftly Jon defeated Cyril Gane.

“For all those reasons [I’m the toughest matchup]— I have the size, I have the wrestling, I have the athleticism, I have the speed, I have the agility. I have all the things you need to match up with a talent like Jon Jones.” said the 32-years old.

At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Jon Jones made his octagon comeback after nearly three years at UFC 285 in March. The former light heavyweight kingpin defeated Cyril Gane with a guillotine choke in the opening round. The American fighter, who finished his opponent like a lion in charge even at the age of 35, appeared heavier, stronger, and more durable than ever.

“I know he has the reach. His arms are longer than my reach. But I would have to find a way to get in that zone type of range. I might have to use elbows. I might have to get in the clinch but I believe once I take anyone down, the odds are in my favor.” the Illinois-born MMA fighter added.

What are Curtis Blaydes and Jon Jones’ upcoming fights?

Bones immediately after defeating Bon Gamin declared his interest in facing Stipe Miocic, a former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion and rival of former Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, in the upcoming fight. Dana White predicts that Madison Square Garden will most likely host the heavyweight fight.

On April 22, 2023, at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, Las Vegas, Curtis is slated to square off against Sergei Pavlovich in the main event of the forthcoming UFC Fight Night. However, Razor thinks Jones will prolong his career at there will be a possibility for them to fight in the future.

“I think that would be a fantastic matchup and I hope it happens. I believe it in a lot more right now than I did a year and a half ago. He can hang out until 38 easily, maybe even push it to 39. He’s in that category of LeBron [James], Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, the outliers.” Curtis continued.
