‘I never felt like I had won the title at WrestleMania’ Seth Rollins laments being ‘second fiddle’ to Roman Reigns even after winning World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins, the American professional wrestler who currently performs in the Raw brand of WWE, is the current WWE United States Champion in his second reign. Rollins made his professional wrestling debut in 2005, but he didn’t join WWE until 2010, and in 2012, he was promoted to the WWE main roster.

In his 10 years WWE main roster journey, Rollins grabbed numerous titles. The American wrestler won the Raw Tag Team Championship six times, 2014 Money in the Bank, the United States Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship, the Universal Championship, and the WWE Championship two times.

During this glorified journey, Rollins has never been the main face of WWE because of his teammate Roman Reign, who has always been the key player, which made Rollins sad as he could always feel the shadow of his teammate. Even Rollins had to cash in the money in the bank during WrestleMania 31 so that Reigns could win that.

“I never felt like even when I had won the title at WrestleMania, cashed in, great moment. I still felt like I was the second fiddle to Roman, I still felt like he was the guy, just kinda, ‘You’re the placeholder until he’s totally ready, and we’re totally ready to put the ball in his hands. But for now, you’re a step ahead. So we’re gonna give you this, and then, you know, we’ll move on to where we really want to be.”

Rollins thinks it is the fault of the organization, as they always wanted Reigns to be the face of everything, which actually had a bad effect on other wrestlers, but the company doesn’t acknowledge it.

“So now I’ve never ever felt like, in my time in WWE, that the company was like, Yep, he’s (Roman Reign) our guy, put his face on everything.”
