“I would love that fight”: Shakur Stevenson shares candid thoughts on bout vs Vasiliy Lomachenko if Devin Haney refuses his call out

Devin Haney defended his undisputed lightweight crown yesterday, and Shakur Stevenson almost immediately challenged him to the next big fight. Now if Devin declines, Shakur seems willing to challenge Vasiliy to a fight instead.

Haney received a unanimous decision victory by scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 in the highly awaited lightweight boxing match between Dream and Loma that took place yesterday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Shakur Stevenson on fighting Vasiliy Lomachenko:

Shakur voiced his opinions about the fight after the event while watching it from the ringside. The 25-year-old boxer feels that Lomachenko had done enough to be declared the undisputed champion. Shakur wanted to give Loma the decision as he threw more accurate punches, significant strikes and also picked up the tempo.

The American boxer even expressed a desire to face the Ukrainian a day after the Vegas Event. Shakur posted a retweet with his desire by saying, “I would love that fight too honestly feel it should be me vs him for undisputed.”

Shakur Stevenson also challenges Devin Haney to a duel

Not just Loma, the former two-division world champion yesterday also called out Devin Haney. Shakur likely has Haney’s 135-pound championship belt in his sights. The former world champion at the featherweight and super featherweight weight class issued a challenge to Dream, saying Haney would not be able to defeat him.

Shakur is aware of how challenging it will be to defeat Devin as well. Due to his remarkable skills, he did not hesitate to praise arguably the finest lightweight fighter in the world.

“I feel like he’s a tough fighter, but there’s a high skill level within me and I feel like he’s not on my level. Bill (Haney) called me out after my last fight, so now I’m here, and they ran out of the ring. They got a little scared.” Shakur said.
