“I’m willing do whatever it takes to win”: Henry Cejudo sends sterns warming to Aljamain Sterling ahead of UFC 288

Former double champion Henry Cejudo will make his octagon comeback after a three-year absence in the year of the returning champions. Prior to his return, Aljamain Sterling, Cejudo’s opponent in the octagon, received a stern warning.

On May 7, in the main event of UFC 288 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the former flyweight and bantamweight champion will compete against Sterling to recapture his bantamweight title.

What did Henry Cejudo warn Aljamain Sterling with?

During his decade long mixed martial arts career, Triple C accomplished pretty much everything a UFC fighter could hope to accomplish. Henry will return to the octagon in a week with his renewed vigor and competitive spirit. The Olympic gold medalist has discussed about Funk Master in a recent interview.

“I see Aljamain Sterling, I see a damn Benjamin. I see T.J. Dillashaw. I’m just here to rob the bank and that’s a reality. That’s how I feel and that’s what I’m gonna do on May 6 because Aljamain’s just not at my level and I love it. As a matter of fact, UFC actually hired me as a hitman to take this dude out.” said Cejudo about Aljamain.

Henry still looks to have a strong drive to succeed. The American fighter seems more determined than ever to win. Furthermore, the 36-year-old fighter seems obviously focused on moving up to 145 pounds as he wants to conquer the featherweight title as well.

“Did the UFC really want to give me a title shot? ‘No, but Henry, you’re stylistically the best matchup and we want him out of here.’ I’m like alright. Let me put on my gloves. I’m gonna go out and get that job done.” Cejudo added.

The former two-division champion isn’t particularly concerned about winning his upcoming bantamweight title fight as it seems. Rather a title fight against Alexander Volkanovski is his ultimate goal at the moment to be three division champion.
