Is Khabib Nurmagomedov coming back to UFC? former dual-weight champ Daniel Cormier drops major update on ‘The Eagle’

After retiring from MMA in 2021, Khabib Nurmagomedov shifted his focus to coaching. There were a lot of rumors that he would make an immediate return to UFC to fight for one last time against George St Pierre. However, the former UFC champion put an end to all those speculations and prioritized his own MMA organization Eagle FC.

At one point, he even decided not to corner any further fighters from his camp anymore. Amid such a situation, former two-division champ Daniel Cormier has teased some news that has some people confused.

Daniel Cormier reveals Khabib Nurmagomedov has dropped weight

A few days ago, Daniel Cormier released a video on his channel where he discussed the UFC 280 PPV and many other topics. The former UFC champion invited Islam Makhachev as a guest and had a long conversation. While speaking to the lightweight champion, DC revealed that Khabib Nurmagomedov has dropped a significant amount of weight.

“So all the boys are back at AKA. Khabib is back, Khabib is looking skinny bro. Khabib lost some real weight. Like since I saw him last time Khabib looks really skinny. He looked real thin when he was back at AKA,” said DC.

From the above video, it seemed that Daniel Cormier was trying to give hints about Khabib’s return to combat sports. Because after Islam defeated Oliveira, Khabib announced that he is taking a break from coaching to spend more time with his family. Now that he has dropped weight, and looking at the excitement of DC and Islam, could something really be in store?

Khabib Nurmagomedov is training hard amid uncertain UFC comeback

As said earlier, fans have linked Khabib Nurmagomedov to make a return to the UFC on several occasions. Even after his refusal to make a comeback, there were rumors suggesting a Khabib vs Oliveira fight if the latter defeated Islam Makhachev last year. However, with Do Bronx’s defeat those rumors all but died.

But two months ago, Khabib posted a video on Instagram of him running on a treadmill. He also shared videos of him training at the gym which led to many people believing that The Eagle will make a comeback in the UFC. Although to the despair of everyone, the former UFC champion captioned the post “July I have to be ready.” (Not MMA)

He clarified that his return is not related to Mixed Martial Arts. But it seems like the fans still can’t get enough of the Dagestani which is why rumors of his comeback seemingly jump out of nowhere every now and then.
