“It’s not the best for him or his brand” Jorge Masvidal claims Conor McGregor turned down their fight since he would give the Irishman stylistic issues

Conor McGregor was a fighter Jorge Masvidal always desired to face, but more recently, Jorge revealed the reasons why the Irish superstar always declined to engage in an octagon fight with him.

Masvidal and Burns, two brilliant welterweights, will meet in the co-main event of UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya 2.  After a long layoff, Jorge Masvidal is ready to return to action on April 8 as the co-main event of the upcoming UFC 287 event.

In a recent interview on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, the welterweight fighter expressed his eagerness to get back on the winning track following three consecutive losses to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman. He also explained why he and Conor never had a fight, which was another interesting point of discussion.

The American MMA fighter almost voiced his disappointment at never fighting The Notorious, despite UFC’s offer of a matchup between the two.

“I want Conor, but Conor doesn’t want me. It sucks, you know? He just doesn’t want it. Every time the UFC’s brought it up, he shoots it down. I don’t know why” said Jorge.

The 38-year-old MMA fighter presented several theories as to why Conor has never shown interest in fighting him inside the octagon, including the possibility that the Irishman is afraid to face him because he is bigger, quicker, and hits harder than The Notorious.

“Stylistically, it’s not the best for him or his brand, you know? Not only am I going to beat the f**king brakes off of him, but I’m going to do it in a way that is not good for his brand.” Masvidal added.

Ten years and 19 fights later for the UFC, ‘Gamebred’ has a 10-9 record for. At UFC 244, Jorge, the number-thirteen welterweight, defeated Nate Diaz to win the BMF title.

How likely is it that The Notorious will respond to Jorge Masvidal’s statement and accept a fight with him in the future?
