Japanese Grand Prix 2023 Weekend: Practice, qualifying, race date & time, location and how to watch live

This week, Formula One will be making its way into Japan, the country of cherry blossoms. Most of the Japanese GP races will take place at night on the southwest side of Nagoya. Fans eagerly anticipate this event as many racers return once again to the tracks.

The Japanese Grand Prix was originally designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by John Hugenholtz. It is one of the few circuits in the world to have a figure eight layout and the only track on the Formula One calendar that has a crossover on the racing track.

Japanese Grand Prix

Which circuit is the Japanese Grand Prix going to take place?

As mentioned earlier, the Japanese Grand Prix is going to take place in The Suzuka International Racing Course, more famously known as the Suzuka Circuit, which is a 5.807 km long motorsport race track located in Ino, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, and operated by Honda Mobilityland, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co, Ltd. It is known to be one of the oldest circuits in the world.

If you look closely at the track map of Suzuka, you may notice that the Degner Curves look a little out of place compared to the flow of the rest of the circuit. That’s because it was modified from a single, faster turn in the 1980s to encourage Formula One to race there.

How to watch Japanese Grand Prix live?

For viewers in the United States, ESPN will be broadcasting the Sky F1 feed, ensuring an authentic Formula 1 experience. Additionally, fans can catch the action via live streaming on fuboTV.

Viewers in the UK have multiple options to tune in, with access through Sky Sports F1 or NowTV, making sure that viewers will be able to experience the thrill of the Japanese Grand Prix from anywhere in the world.
