Josh Giddey, the Oklahoma City Thunder star buzzes with potential. He is a highly skilled passer who was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the sixth overall pick in 2021.

Things were going good for Josh but recently he has been entangled in controversy, which might jeopardize his career.

Giddey’s Weet-Bix sponsorship is at risk

The NBA is reportedly looking into claims that the Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey had an improper relationship with a minor, and Giddey may lose his $40 million sponsorship deal with the Australian cereal brand Weet-Bix, owned by the Sanitarium Health Food Company.

Code Sports claims that the Australian player, 21, has been taken down from the business’s social media pages. Apparently, Sanitarium has not severed its relationship with Giddey, according to a company representative, but the company is aware of the circumstances.

“We are obviously aware of news surrounding Josh Giddey and are waiting for facts to be confirmed,” the spokesperson told Code Sports. “We are in contact with Josh’s management team and waiting on further detail at this point.”

Giddey was previously featured on cereal boxes for Weet-Bix and other brand-related promotional items. Weet-Bix social media accounts continue to feature other athlete ambassadors for the cereal brand, such as Tim Cahill, Ellyse Perry, Marnus Labuschagne, and Alex de Minaur.

NBA starts investigating on alleged relationship between Josh Giddey and minor

NBA spokesman Mike Bass told The Post on Friday that the league is investigating the claims that Giddey had an improper relationship with a minor. Late on Wednesday night, the accusations made against Giddey first surfaced on social media.

As of Monday, there had been no sign of police involvement. When questioned about the situation on Friday during the Thunder’s media availability, Giddey remained silent.

“I understand the question obviously but no, there is no further comment right now,” Giddey said. “I get the questions guys, I completely understand you guys want to know about it, but just for right now I don’t have anything to say.”

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault also had no comment. “Personal matter, and I have no comment on it,” he said on Friday. “And that will be my answer to anything related.”
