Lionel Messi scores 700th goal of his career joining Cristiano Ronaldo in elite goals club amid PSG’s 3-0 win vs Marseille

History book has writen Lionel Messi so many times and there goes another after the Argentine Magicman enters the elite list of 700 club career goal and joined Cristiano Ronaldo as the only second player to do so.

Messi scored against Marseille at the 29 minutes of the game and it was his 28th in the PSG Jersey and 700th for the club career goals and now only Cristiano is ahead of him.

Lionel Messi scored a total of 672 goals for Barcelona in all competitions during his time at the club, from his debut in 2004 until his departure in 2021.

It was a historical night for the Parisians as Messi’s fellow teammate Kylian Mbappe became the joint all time top scorer for the French Champion.

Messi assisted beautifully to Kylian Mbappe for his 200th goal for PSG but it was a return to his favor as Mbappe assisted Messi to his 700 club goals.

The bitter sweet rivalry of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi continues as there is no one between them to this elite club and may the fight continue.

Messi has been very influential against Merseille in the ‘Le Classique’ as he not only scored, he provided so many key passes to Mbappe which eventually earned the Frenchman his second of the game and 200th for the Parisians.

PSG have now looked like a proper team to compete against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League round of sixteen second leg after trailing in 1-0 following a tame performance in the Parc Des Princes.

Lionel Messi is very vrucial to PSG and to manager Cristophe Galtier’s gameplan and the way he is looking back to form, it will certainly please the manager.
