Manchester United looking to snap up 23-year-old Chelsea forward in the next transfer window

The Portuguese youngster Joao Felix is currently on loan with Chelsea FC, and new rumors suggest that Manchester United want the 23-year-old to make their attacking lineup even stronger.

The Red Devils had to let superstar Cristiano Ronaldo go after both parties agreed to a contract termination last December. Erik Ten Hag’s side suffered other major blows in their attacking lineup after Anthony Martial suffered consecutive injuries that kept him out of the game for an extended period.

Furthermore, Mason Greenwood’s absence due to accusations of sexual assault has only made matters worse. Manchester United are now fourth in the Premier League table after outstanding performances from Marcus Rashford. Rashford, however, has injured himself, and is currently out, albeit only for a short period.

Joao Felix makes a great choice for a long-term investment. Chelsea agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid for a 6 month loan to secure the Portuguese attacker, with an option to buy him permanently. However, the prolific forward will prefer to play in European competitions, and given Chelsea’s current position in the Premier League table (11th), that deal might not be so lucrative for the player anymore.

The 23-year-old has been widely praised for his technical ability, dribbling skills, and eye for goal. He is a versatile player who can play as a striker, in the wings, and even as a False 9. He has also been compared to his compatriot and former Atletico Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo, for his playing style and potential.

Joao Felix has a current market value of €50 million, according to Transfermarkt. Manchester United can definitely pay up that sum of money to secure his services. However, whether they can negotiate such a deal with Atletico Madrid remains to be seen.

The versatile Portuguese youngster will surely be an asset to Erik Ten Hag’s side, and only time will tell whether Manchester United will be able to secure his services.
