“Never defended them either”: UFC fans mock Conor McGregor’s claims that he “never lost any of my titles”

A few hours ago Conor McGregor posted a tweet on Twitter captioning “Never lost any of my titles.” The Notorious won titles in two weight classes featherweight and lightweight during his career in Cage Warriors in 2012. However, the Irishman never defended any of his titles as he signed a contract with the UFC.

Thereafter McGregor clawed his way to the top of the featherweight division with six consecutive wins. He went on to spark Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez out cold to become the first fighter to become a UFC two-division champion simultaneously. Interestingly, the Notorious didn’t defend both his belts as he shifted his focus to boxing for his super fight against Floyd Mayweather.

Due to his boxing commitment, the Irishman had to relinquish both his titles. After having to give up his titles, McGregor fought for the title in his UFC return in 2018 against Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, The Notorious was unable to reclaim the lightweight belt as the Dagestani lightweight submitted him in the fourth round.

With that being said, Conor’s tweet about never losing any title is factually true. Although fight fans on Twitter mocked McGregor for this tweet and brutally trolled him. Here are some replies from fight enthusiasts on Twitter.

Will Conor McGregor earn a title shot with a win over Michael Chandler?

Conor McGregor will make his return inside the octagon against former title contender Michael Chandler. There is no news regarding the date but fans are highly anticipating as Notorious will come back from the brutal leg injury that he suffered during his fight against Dustin Poirier in July21.

With that being said, McGregor is hopeful that a win over Michael Chandler will help him earn a welterweight title shot. If you take a look at the recent records of both fighters, they have lost three of their last four fights.

However, Conor’s star power is such that a big knockout win might get him a title shot in the future. Another thing that could help him is the fact that the welterweight division is quite thin.
