NFL analyst doubts Jets QB Aaron Rodgers’ chance at fifth MVP, cites loss of Davante Adams

The Green Bay Packer’s former quarterback Aaron Rodgers has recently landed in the New York Jets following a prolonged trade saga, marking an end to his 18-year glorious past, and he is now eyeing to continue his legacy of elevating the play of those around him by showcasing MVP worthy performance.

However, a renowned NFL analyst expressed skepticism about Rodgers’ chances of clinching his fifth MVP award and marked Davante Adams’ absence as a significant factor that could hinder the quarterback’s quest for another MVP title.

NFL analyst drops bombshell prediction on Aaron Rodgers MVP win

Heading to his first season as a starting quarterback, A-Rod is trying his best to adapt to his new home and has already earned high praises from HC Robert Saleh to his young teammates. The four-time MVP is a prime candidate to win another MVP title in 2023, holding the seventh-best odds to win the MVP award at +1600.

However, FOX’s Joy Taylor projected Rodgers could miss the upcoming MVP title.

“They don’t make the concessions of oh, well, the Jets weren’t in the playoffs for this long and now you got there and they made the playoffs, voters don’t do that, particularly for a position as valuable as the quarterback and whose numbers that we focus on so much so that they’re not going to make that concession.”

“So, at the end of the day, it’s gonna come down to the elite of the elite who are actually at the top and realistically in the MVP conversation, I don’t think we’re gonna see that for multiple reasons from Aaron Rodgers this year.”

Joy thinks the Packer’s former wide receiver Davante Adams had a significant contribution behind the 39-year-old quarterback’s past successful career, however, both Adams and Rodgers are now out of Green Bay, hence, Joy thinks keeping the earlier form would be tough for the football star.

“Davante Adams is not walking through that door, he’s not and I don’t care what people say, Davante Adams was a massive part of those MVP years. He is no longer playing in the NFC North, he is now in the AFC East, you are not walking through this division, you’re just not, it’s going to be harder for you this year, even with the talent you have with the Jets.”

What team is Davante Adams with now?

Following Aaron’s trade to the Jets, the Packers traded their veteran WR Davante to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for first- and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The WR is set to become one of the highest-paid wide receivers in NFL history after signing a five-year, $141.25 million contract with the Raiders including an average annual value of $28.25 million along with $67.5 million in fully guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Davante Adams says that Aaron Rodgers' exit would make him reconsider his future with Packers

The Packers and their former receiver were not on good terms as the 30-year-old player didn’t like to play under a franchise tag, hence, Green Bay was working on the deal to trade the star player despite his phenomenal last season in the team with the record of receptions (123) and receiving yards (1,553).

With Aaron and Adams being in different squads now, it remains to be seen if they could continue providing a masterclass performance in their respective teams.
