NFL Free Agency: With training camps weeks away, NFL insider provides star-studded free agents list

With training camps just weeks away, teams are looking to bolster their rosters and fill key positions to maximize their chances of success in the upcoming season by making some major moves with the help of the NFL Free Agency, however, many big football stars are yet to find their next homes.

As teams fine-tune their rosters and strategize for success, a renowned NFL insider has provided a star-studded list of free agents who hold immense caliber to make a significant impact on their new teams.

Big weeks ahead for NFL teams with training camps looming

Following the organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamps being finished, the NFL offseason is going to mark its end and the league is now enjoying summer vacation.

NFL training camp

The NFL 2023 season will officially begin with training camp which is still roughly a month away. Players are now going to enjoy the vacation for a little over a month, and coaches take a few weeks off before holding training camps at off-site locations. Some teams prefer to arrange camp at their own facilities to keep players and coaches in the flow for the regular season and ensure the absence of potential distractions.

However, football enthusiasts eagerly await the start of training camps, many NFL teams are secretly eyeing to pick the available veteran free agents in the league to give a major boost to their roster.

Top talents fill up the free agency list

Popular NFL reporter Dov Kleiman unveiled an exclusive list of free agents on his Twitter and the list features many big football stars like Dalvin Cook, DeAndre Hopkins, Ezekiel Elliott, and Melvin Gordon.

Despite leading the Minnesota Vikings with a 53-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to ensure a 24-16 win over the Miami Dolphins, RB Cook was released by the franchise. The 28-year-old free agent with the record of four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 2019 to 2022 is now waiting for his next home, keeping four Pro Bowl honors in his bag.

The 31-year-old wide receiver Hopkins is available in the free agency market after being cut by the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran star visited the Tennessee Titans and New England, Patriots, a few days ago, albeit no good news came out after that.

The former Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is another big name in the market following being cut by the franchise. The three-time Pro Bowler led the NFL in rushing yards per game in three consecutive seasons (2016-2018) as well as the league in rushing yards twice (2016, 2018) and became a free agent following seven seasons in Dallas.

Running back Gordon earned a Super Bowl ring with Patrick Mahomes in 2022 as a member of the Chiefs’ practice squad, however, he will not be seen with the franchise in the upcoming season. After hitting free agency at 30, the two-time Pro-Bowler thinks he still has the caliber to play in the NFL.

As the countdown to training camps continues, some teams may decide to retain their own free agents, nevertheless, some teams may aim at big moves to make a splash in the free agency market by acquiring high-profile talent, and decisions taken in this crucial period will have a prolonged effect on their upcoming season.
