Pedri chooses his GOAT between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

In the world of football, there has been much debate on the topic of the greatest of all time. This debate began when a young boy from Rosario, Argentina, and a young boy from Madeira, Portugal, emerged as the best footballers of all time.

This heated debate has divided many across the world, and like many others, 21-year-old Pedri has also chosen his greatest of all time (GOAT) in this intriguing debate.

Pedri weighs in on GOAT debate

When asked to pick the GOAT between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the 21-year-old abruptly replied, “Messi without a doubt, but Cristiano is a great player.”

This choice may not surprise any of the football enthusiasts, given the time both the Argentine and Pedri played together. Unfortunately for the Spanish international, his time with Lionel Messi was cut short as Messi decided to leave Camp Nou in the summer of 2021 for Paris Saint-Germain.

Both players have achieved great success in their respective careers. Ronaldo has bagged an incredible 748 career goals and 236 assists in 1002 games while winning the UEFA Champions League five times. He was even awarded the prestigious Ballon d’Or five times in his career.

Whereas, Messi has notched up 726 senior club career goals and 346 assists in just 894 appearances, having won La Liga 10 times and UEFA Champions League three times. He has also helped Argentina conquer the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and even has eight Ballon d’Or s in his name.
