It is no surprise that Lionel Messi loved Barcelona and wanted to retire there. Nonetheless, this could not happen due to the club’s poor financial condition, being in massive debt and not having enough funds it became impossible to pay Messi’s salary. After having an emotional departure from Barcelona he joined PSG which he then left for Inter Miami. In a recent interview, Messi talked about PSG and his life there.

In the interview, Messi admits that he never planned to leave Barcelona saying “As I said at the time, my departure to Paris was not something I wanted”. Lionel Messi claims he’s conquered soccer after winning World Cup 2023

In an interview with UrbanaPlay Messi admitted that there is nothing left to achieve in his career, ” I never imagined that all this was going to happen to me when I started, and getting to this moment was the best. I have no complaints and I can’t ask for more. We won the Copa America [in 2021] and the World Cup, there’s nothing left.”, said the Argentine captain. Fans, media, players everyone agrees with him, after winning the Ballon d’Or seven times and leaving a legacy that will remain untouched for generations there is not much left for him to achieve in the footballing world.

The road to World Cup was not easy and he had to face many challenges and hatred along the way. Lionel Messi once announced retirement after losing to Chile in the Copa America 2015. He was devastated as he missed a penalty in the finals which led to Chile winning the tournament. He returned to the game soon after only to be disappointed once again in the 2018 World Cup in Russia where they were kicked out of the tournament by France who went on to win the Cup.
