Report: “It was a rush to judgment” Arrest warrant issued for Bengals RB Joe Mixon to be dropped soon

Police have filed an arrest warrant against Bengals star running back Joe Mixon. The Bengals last week lost their AFC Championship match against the Chiefs, and following that game on Tuesday, police issued a warrant against Mixon for aggravated menacing.

However, according to multiple sources, the crime occurred two weeks ago, on 21st January, a day before the Bengals were set to play the Bills in the Wild Card game. The incident did seem to be valid until Peter Schaffer, Joe’s agent, came with some exciting news.

Peter was fired up against the police before delivering the news that the case would be dropped on Friday as police rushed to send the arrest warrant without solid evidence. Tom Pelissero shared a tweet saying that he spoke to the agent, and the agent told him, “the misdemeanor charge against Mixon will be dropped Friday.” Tom also shared a photo where Schaffer’s statement can be found.

What did Peter Schaffer say about Bengals RB Joe Mixon?

Speaking about Joe Mixon, Peter’s statement reads, “It was a rush to judgment. They’re dropping the charges first thing in the morning. I really feel that police have an obligation before they file charges – because of the damage that can be done to the person’s reputation – to do their work. They should be held to a higher standard. Because I don’t play with people’s lives.”

People, including the police, would doubt Mixon as he previously involved himself in similar situations. Joe does not have the best of records regarding treating women. On 24th July, the running back punched a girl and went viral.

The woman, Amelia Molitor, suffered severe injuries as her cheekbone and Jaw broke. Mixon was later taken to court, where he settled things with Amelia and had to apologize for his actions. Joe was quite guilty after the incident and said he was thankful to Molitor for giving him a chance. He also added while saying,

“The way I reacted that night, that’s not me. That’s not the way I was raised. I think she understands that. Talking together helps move us past what happened. I know I have to keep working to be a better person, and this is another step in that direction.”

Yet, the police and fans should not judge Mixon for his previous actions and try first to figure out what happened in the incident. Stay tuned for more updates on Joe Mixon.
