Rhea Ripley tops this year’s PWI while none of the WWE Four Horsewomen made the Top 10 for the first time in a decade

The PWI Women’s 250, Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s annual ranking of the best 250 female wrestlers in the world, was just published. Rhea Ripley, the current WWE Women’s World Champion, has achieved the top rank in this year. Both the men’s and women’s lists are determined using kayfabe standards, such as winning percentages and titles won.

The summer of 2022 witnessed Rhea Ripley’s meteoric rise to fame, largely due to her involvement in The Judgment Day. In a relatively short period after joining WWE, Rhea has already ascended to the top of the PWI 250 list of women’s wrestlers for 2023.

WWE icon Rhea Ripley officially tops this year’s PWI

Currently, Rhea Ripley is one of WWE’s biggest draws. It’s no surprise that she tops Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Women’s 250 list, since she has been dominant throughout the whole year. Last year, Rhea joined The Judgment Day and rapidly established herself as a prominent figure. She climbed her way up to become one of wrestling’s top villains and was ultimately granted a second chance at redemption when she won the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2023.

Rhea went on to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship and later secured the Women’s World Championship by defeating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. Despite facing formidable opponents like Zelina Vega, Natalya, and Raquel Rodriguez, she consistently emerged victorious.

After 200 days as Women’s World Champion, Ripley has recently been recognized as the top wrestler in the world by PWI. She has worked very hard to get this position, which she has never had before. In January, the Nightmare broke a record by starting in first place and won the Women’s Royal Rumble.

No WWE Four Horsewomen made the Top 10 of this year’s PWI

The WWE’s “Four Horsewomen” weren’t as successful this year. None have cracked the top 20 for the first time since 2013. After Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, Bayley landed in the 41st position. Sasha Banks rebranded as Mercedes Mone, was ineligible for the list because of her lack of recent competition.

NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is ranked #29 on the list. Since she is such a prominent character in women’s wrestling, this came as a shock to many. She has had several incredible bouts, including the ones against Trish Stratus and Tiffany Stratton. Additionally, she has aided in the rise of other wrestlers like Tegan Nox. The wrestling community is understandably outraged mostly because of the Man’s rank.

On November 4, at WWE Crown Jewel, Mami will compete in a fatal five-way match as Nia Jax has returned to WWE and started beating up Ripley and the rest of the ladies on the “Raw” roster. Share your opinion about Eradicator’s new storyline.
